Itinerary Details
Day 1
(MD, Motel) Fly into Melbourne where we are met by our coach and taken to our motel in St Kilda to settle in for our first night’s dinner.
Day 2
(FB, MD, Motel) The Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show is set to inspire with breath taking floral displays and spectacular Show Gardens. Visitors to the show will also experience masterclasses with floral designers, meet key landscape designers, exhibitors and industry experts, as well as peruse the avenues of exhibitors selling everything from bulbs, plants, tools, trinkets and garden accessories. Note: Show entry included.
Day 3
(FB, MD, Motel) Discover the story of an Australian pastoral empire, Werribee Park Mansion. One of the largest and most opulent properties in Victoria with 60 rooms across several wings, the mansion is in a Renaissance Revival style. Take in the fine interior which includes some original furniture set within a richly decorated entry hall and grand staircase. The onsite rose gardens are also a feature of this visit. Afternoon drive through the Werribee Open Range Zoo in an open-air vehicle gives you the best views whilst you learn about some of the world’s most endangered species as well as the zoo’s conservation efforts. Over 500 acres featuring gorillas, lions, hippos, monkeys, meerkats as well as camels, bison, ostrich, rhinos, zebras, and giraffe all roaming freely in the park. Note: Werribee Park & Open Range Zoo included.
Day 4
(FB, RD, Motel) A full day in Melbourne, after touring the busy city streets we spend some time in the Botanical Gardens including the Guilfoyle’s Volcano, a spectacular and historic water reservoir with commanding views of the city. Meandering through the Shrine of Remembrance and past the Kings Domain to the National Gallery of Victoria and Melbourne Arts Centre. Note: Gallery and Arts Centre included.
Day 5
(FB, PL, RD, Motel) From Melbourne we head down the Nepean Highway and onto the Mornington Peninsula to Sorrento. From here we board a ferry across the mouth of Port Phillip Bay to Queenscliff. Lunch is a dining journey unlike any other, aboard the Q Train, travelling from Drysdale to Queenscliff with main course served as we pause on Swan Bay. These protected wetlands are abundant with birdlife and provide a lovely backdrop to your meal. In the afternoon we explore Geelong and the Geelong Wharf with views of Eastern Beach before returning to Melbourne. Note: Ferry Crossing and Q Train included.
Day 6
(FB) Late check out with a free morning in the heart of Melbourne before flying home.
