Itinerary Details
Day 1
(MD, Motel) Flying to Brisbane we meet up with our hosts and fellow travellers and settle into our motel.
Day 2
(CB, MD, Motel) Climbing through the ranges of the Lockyer Valley to Toowoomba. After lunch travelling South West on the Gore Highway to Goondiwindi on the Macintyre River which forms the Queensland New South Wales border.
Day 3
(CB, Motel) Crossing into New South Wales through the wheat, sorghum, barley, sheep and beef cattle fields of the New England Region to Tamworth. The town of lights, in 1888 Tamworth was the first place in Australia to use electric street lights.
Day 4 & 5
(CB, Motel) The Tamworth Country Music Festival is an annual celebration of country music, culture and heritage in particular the national Australian country music scene. With 120 venues and 700 artists on the program there is a lot to see and do. During the festival Tamworth comes alive, with visitors from all across the country. Spend the day enjoying the streets of town loaded with buskers, stages, clubs and stalls. Choose from a range of ticketed and free events through day and night (acts and options to be confirmed).
Day 6
(CB, MD, Motel) Leaving the festival behind we drive through Armidale and hit the coast at Ballina before returning to Queensland.
Day 7
(CB, RD, Motel) A relaxing morning with a late start before touring around the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise. In the afternoon we head over to the Australian Outback Spectacular to enjoy the show from the Top Rail premium seats to round off our Country Music Tour.
Day 8
(CB) Returning to Brisbane to fly home.
